North Korean soldiers gather on Munsu Hill in Pyongyang on Saturday to mark the 69th anniversary of the country's founding. But no weapons test was detected as of Saturday afternoon, as people in the capital Pyongyang went through customary practices of showing loyalty to the late founding leader Kim Il-sung, his late son Kim Jong-il and third-generation leader Kim Jong-un. This year's anniversary came just after Pyongyang conducted its sixth and most powerful nuclear test to date last weekend, which it claimed as a detonation of a thermonuclear weapon built for its ICBMs. Last year it held a nuclear test on this September anniversary. In a related development, Kyodo News reported that YouTube on Saturday suspended access to the North Korean channel "My Ethnic Group", which displays videos praising its government and conveying threats against foreign countries deemed hostile.
